“We thought we’d have to rehome our dog Sosa—he was destroying his crate, pulling like crazy on walks, and nothing seemed to work. Woody changed everything. He didn’t just train our dog—he helped us save him. Now Sosa listens, stays calm, and even sits quietly in his kennel. I still can’t believe the transformation. Woody’s commitment and calm approach are unmatched.”
"I was confusing my new rescue without even realizing it—my posture wasn’t matching my commands. Woody caught it on the first visit. With just a few small adjustments, Quincy and I had a breakthrough. We've bonded faster and our connection is stronger than I imagined. I’ll be working with Woody again and again as we keep leveling up."
"Woody responded to my inquiry within an hour and showed up to our first session ready for a challenge. My 6-month-old, 60-pound Rottweiler pushed every boundary—but Woody didn’t flinch. Even after she tried to bite him, he calmly stayed the course, taught us exactly what to do, and earned her respect. By our second visit, she was already a different dog. I want her to be the kind of Rottweiler people admire, not fear—and thanks to Woody, I believe she will be."

FAQs
You've Got Questions. Dogs Decoded Has Straight Answers
When should I start training my dog?
The earlier the better—but it’s never too late. Puppies as young as 8 weeks can begin learning foundations, and older dogs can still change with the right structure. Woody works with all ages, all breeds, all stages.
How long does each training session last?
First time lessons typically take 2 hours and most follow-up sessions run about 90 minutes. We've found this schedule works best for the dog and their owner. But if it takes a little more to get the job done, Woody sticks with it. You’re not on a timer—you’re on a mission to make progress.
Should I choose private training or group classes?
Woody only offers one-on-one private training. Why? Because real change happens in a distraction-free environment that sets you and your dog up for success.
What kind of training methods do you use?
We believe there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to dog training. Some trainers lean “hard,” using strict commands and corrective tools. Others go “soft,” relying mostly on treats, praise, and clickers. We strike a balance.
Our training is calm, clear, and tailored to each dog’s personality and each owner’s comfort level. We don’t rely on punishment. Instead, we focus on clear communication, timing, and leadership - helping dogs understand what’s expected and helping owners feel confident in guiding them.
Whether it’s a verbal “yes,” a scratch behind the ear, or a strong, steady command, we use the tools that work best for your dog to build trust along the way.
Can you help if my dog is aggressive?
Yes. Whether your dog is growling, snapping, or has been labeled “dangerous,” Woody’s trained to handle high-stress situations and help you get control through communication and leadership.
No judgment—just a plan.
Do you follow-up after training?
Absolutely. Many clients see breakthroughs in the first visit—but that doesn’t mean we disappear. Woody’s committed to lasting change, not quick fixes. One client said, “I’d hired a trainer before and got nowhere. But within 15 minutes, Woody had my dog following commands—it was unreal.”
Whether it’s follow-up sessions or just checking in to make sure progress sticks, we’ve got your back.
